Better and Improved

Come back when you truly know that frustration. Self-betterment means being better than yourself not other people. But even in a competition, everyone knows they are at a disadvantage in some way. Everyone knows Usain Bolt is the fastest runner in the world, but what about the guy finishing in 2nd or 3rd? Doesn't mean Usain was the only one running because everyone else quit. A shitload of no names ran more than you ever have in your life just to watch some dude get a medal. And those runner-ups are still running.

Now about self-improvement, real self-improvement involves bettering yourself, not your ego. Is your goal to be better than other people or than yourself? If it's the first, join a fucking competition so you can have the numbers to prove it instead of your own ego. If it's the second, then what's the big deal? The only other guy in the ring is you. The only one running on the track is you, not some dude whose ancestors ran their whole lives. Why are you feeling bad for someone else's accomplishments when you've been striving to beat yourself all this time?

The only time you ever lose against yourself is when you throw in the towel. shit's the hardest fight there is, man. Because it never stops. There is no bell ring, no finish line. It's only over when you die.

Black Swan Perfect Blue

Perfect Blue (Satoshi Kon, 1998) is a chilling psycho-thriller about Mima, a young (pop) star who embraces the darkness within her in order to achieve her dream (becoming an actress), willing to alienate everyone who cares about her to do so. Mima has an overbearing but loving maternal figure (her manager, Rumi) who doesn’t approve of her new shady career choices. She is emotionally tormented by an unknown outsider who begins to destroy Mima’s already tenuous grasp on reality, and Mima is soon haunted by a doppelganger who represents both her mental anguish and the duality of her soul.

Black Swan (Darren Aronofsky, 2010) is a chilling psycho-thriller about Nina, a young (ballet) star who embraces the darkness within her in order to achieve her dream (becoming the lead player in Swan Lake). She alienates, she’s got an overbearing but loving mom who disapproves, emotional torment, tenuous grasp on reality, and a doppelganger who represents both her mental anguish and the duality of her soul.

Darren Aronofsky bought the rights to Perfect Blue for just $59,000 in order to replicate the gorgeous bathtub sequence for his 2000 film Requiem for a Dream. The staged rape scene in Perfect Blue also inspired a scene toward the end of Aronofsky's film in which a group of perverted men circle around and cheer on a vulgar sexual event.

Maybe because it was a big thing in 1960

So next week is graduation of my class. For me it looks like everyone is making such a big deal out of it. Like a celebration of some sort. Is it just me, or did graduating from college (especially undergrad and lower institutions) not feel like an accomplishment at all? Like what's the fucking big deal, everyone graduates sooner or later. Fuck, I don't even want attend my graduation.

Matter of fact, Bachelor's degree is just like a High School diploma these days. Well, it does mark an end to a significant portion of a person's life; namely, the decision to either stop learning, or become an expert in the field of your choice. I am attending the commencement just because my parents will be there. To be honestly going to the ceremony was more for my parents than me. All the same, I would have skipped it, but the parents came and wanted to see me walk, etc. Getting myself a PhD or Graduate from Med School or some shit and then I may not whining about celebration.

Knowledge

Ever feel overwhelmed by the amount of human knowledge out there?

It amazes me, all these different cultures, religions, theories, people...such a massive amount of information. It saddens me that I'll probably only learn a small slither of it in my lifetime.

Knowledge, I will plow through it because absorbing it pleases me and occupies my mind. I won't know all I want but that's not the point. It's about the chase, not the catch. Social wise, I will be experience less unconditional affection from everykind people, something that all the other people might consider normal and an integral part of the human experience.

Don't forget that human knowledge is increasing exponentially. So by the time you die you will know relatively a lot less than you do now. Remember that 90% of everything is shit. So that narrows everything down in order to enjoy worthless knowledge and trivia.

Eu 'get no job left in' rope

The better countries in Europe are post-industrial, knowledge-based economies. They make more money from services (finance for instance), innovation, engineering etc than production of goods. Countries like Spain, Greece, etc. are the poorfags of Europe because their industrial bases are crumbling (can't compete with China etc.) and they don't have anything much to offer in terms of knowledge and creativity. Spain specifically is in the shit right now because it was undergoing a false economic boom fuelled by overseas investment, people from the UK and Germany buying second homes there. Now that's dried up, they've got nothing left but hundreds of half-built developments and no jobs.

Europe is not a homgenous mass, and most of their trade is internal. This is why they have never been too bothered about US embargoes and such, and they have carried on trading with Cuba and selling missiles and superguns to Iraq, because it's all business at the end of the day. Europe makes guns, bombs, cars, beer, wine, food, computers, and all that other shit, and they exploit chinese and niggers, and that.

Well they are lazy and kind of entitled. It's all nice though. Europe is not better than America, it's the same, only you never see any of it. Because they keep it to themselves. Anything they produce generally they share with other EU countries, as it is tax free to do so. They don't do much export production outside mostly because only enough production for their own nation: they all have office, media or whatever jobs except the poor who are builders or plumbers which aren't bad careers for poor people. Just like America, the really poor and immigrants become bus drivers and street cleaners.
