Why are there so many Fat Nurses? Should not being a nurse makes you value good health? You think they would know the value of good health.
Here is what happens according to my nurse friend experience: It's mostly because the way the job is. Sleep routine messes them up, effecting their hormones. In my country where 1 nurse has to take care of 8 patients, they're walking up and down all day, lifting patients up all by themselves with horrible form which ends up causing long term back problems. When they take a break they usually stuff themselves down with hospital food which consists mostly of sugary white bread, jello, crackers and all that stuff just to ease the mind from all the pressure. Then when they get older they sit in a office signing papers all day so their asses get triple size.
But the truth is not every one is fat. If you see nursing as a job it's more definite that you'll get fat because after a while you get tired, you stop believing in the principles of nursing and you end up not giving a shit anymore (It's a job that you have to love, have patients and courage in order to do). I've met some male nurses who were actually ripped and some female with great bods. It also depends on the department they are on.
